Absolute Poker
has grown at a very fast pace since I first played there. I know part of this is due to the companies "no holds barred"
attitude on promoting and advertising, with ads in poker magazines and a series of commercials targeting play money accounts.
One of the reasons I like playing on AbsolutePoker.com is that they have great tournament structures. They have one of the best
online tournament structures I have seen. The limits go up slowly and it gives the good players the advantage because they have
time to wait for prime opportunities. They offer single and multi-table tournaments. Some kind of multi-table tournament is
offered every half hour, usually for small buy-ins. There are freerolls offered too. In all tournaments online, one of the
greatest selling features, at least for me, is their slide bar in No Limit events. Absolute Poker's slide bar will bet in
increments of the blind. If you want to triple the blind, click the slide bar once. If you want to quadruple the blind, click
the slide bar twice, etc. You can also grab the slide bar with your mouse and move it to the amount you would like to bet.
A few of their other features include storing player's notes, changing the deck colors to one that suits your eyes, and using
"hot key" buttons. Hot key buttons are helpful if you don’t want to use your mouse. You can call, fold, check and
raise with the push of a button. For example, if you want to call, then click the letter "c" on your keyboard.
Taking notes is simple too. Right click an icon and type in whatever you want about a player (it is for your eyes only).
The cardroom has a good game selection. Some of the games they offer are No Limit Holdem, Limit Holdem, Omaha High Low, and Stud.
They offer a wide range of betting limits.
In the fall of 2007, an Absolute employee was fired for participating in a cheating scheme on the site, and the company fined.
The company claims to have addressed the various issues, including refunding money to cheated players.
