ABC -
1. An ABC player is somebody who plays solid starting hands and is usually predictable.
2. A holding of A23 in high-low or Lowball games.

There are many styles of playing poker and what might work well for one player will not necessarily work for another player. A player who is ultra tight and plays premium starting hands is often called an ABC player. In Holdem, the player might only play AA, KK, QQ, AK, and JJ. In Omaha Hi Low, he might only play A234, A23K, AA23, A2KQ, and A235.

Playing an ABC style of poker has its advantages such as having smaller bankroll swings than an aggressive type of player. However, the style is probably the easiest style to play against. Good players might call raises from ABC players in hopes that they hit a flop where they can win all of the tight player's chips. For example, if an ABC player raises with a huge premium hand and another player calls the raise with pocket fours, and the flop comes T74, it would be pretty easy for the player with the set of 4's to take all the chips off his opponent who is holding KK or AA.
