Draw -
1. An unmade hand.
2. A type of poker game.
A player is said to be on a draw if he has an
incomplete hand, but has possibilities to
complete it. For example, a player that is holding 8765 in a Stud game has a open-ended straight draw. Any nine or four would complete
his straight. Similarly, if a player has four spades in his hand, he is said to be on a
flush draw because a fifth spade
would make a flush. There are numerous types of draws, but the bottom line is that they are incomplete hands with potential.
Draw is also a type of poker game. Some examples of draw poker games include, California
Lowball, Badugi, and 2-7
Triple Draw. All Draw games are dealt in a similar fashion. The players are dealt a complete hand before the first
round, but then can replace cards with new ones in hope of making a better hand.
