Floorman – The person who makes decisions and rulings in card rooms.

The term floorman is short for floor manager. They are the people in charge of their specific area. Most brick and mortar casinos have numerous floormen working at any given time. One floor person might work in the lower limit Holdem section while another is working in the Stud section and another works in the high limit section

The responsibilities of floormen differ depending on the locality and the size of the card room. Some cardrooms may have three dozen floormen working at the same time and others might have only one. Even though the responsibilities differ from casino to casino, one thing remains constant: Their primary responsibility is to make decisions when there are disputes.

While floormen normally make the decisions, the person in charge of the floormen (usually called a shift supervisor) has the ultimate say in decisions and all game related matters in the casino during their shift.
