Post - To place your blinds and/or antes on the table before the hands are dealt.

Before each hand of poker is dealt, some or all players must post bets in the form of antes and/or blinds. In Holdem ring games, normally two players (to the left of the dealer button) must post blinds before they even see their cards. If a player misses his blinds and returns to the table before his next blind is due, he must post whatever blinds he missed (in fairness to the other players) in order to be dealt into the next hand. In No-Limit Holdem tournaments, antes are introduced in later rounds and must be posted. In Stud, every player at the table must post the ante prior to the hand being dealt.

In tournament play, even if a player leaves the table, the ante and/or blind amount will be taken from his stack and posted for each hand he is away.
