Shootout - A type of tournament. A tournament that is formatted so that nobody is moved and each table plays down to one winner. The winners then play off for the prize money.

A shootout is a multi table tournament where each player must win their table to advance. As players are eliminated, tables are not consolidated, and no one is moved. Play continues until there is only one winner at each table.

Table winners go on break until all tables have played down to one player. After the break the table winners return to play off for the prize money. Usually, the tournament restarts in a regular format, with tables being condensed and players being moved as necessary.

If the tournament is a “double shootout,” the tournament will be restarted and finished in a shootout format.
