Showdown - The point at the end of the hand when all players show their cards in order to determine the winner.

The showdown occurs after the last card has been delivered and the final round of betting has taken place. It is the point where the players who are remaining in the hand show their holdings so that the dealer may determine who has won the pot. Most casinos have house rules governing the correct order and manner in which hands are to be shown. For instance, most house rules state that a hand must have all cards laid face up, with the backs touching the table, in order to play. This is to ensure that all players can see the entire hand, and to prevent players from illegally adding or removing cards from their hands.

Clubs may also have differing rules on the order of exposure at showdown. They may require that the bettor or last aggressor in the hand expose their hand first. Alternatively, they may require clockwise exposure starting from the left of the button. Most of the time these rules are not necessary, and they are only enforced if there is a dispute between players over who has to show their hand first.
