Split Pot - A pot that is shared by two or more players.

In high only or Lowball games, a pot is only split when two or more players make identical hands. In high/lo games, split pots are much more common.

In a high/lo split game a pot is split if two or more players make identical high hands, and the pot is also split any time a high hand and a qualifying low hand are made by two or more different players. Most high/lo games have an eight qualifier for low. This means that a player must have five cards of different rankings, all of them eight or lower, to make a qualifying low hand. If a low hand qualifies, the pot will be split between the best high hand(s) and the best low hand(s). If no low qualifies, and there is only one winner on the high side, the pot will not be split, and the winner of the high will receive the entire pot. This is called a “scoop.”

"Split pot games" have high/low structures where the high hand and a qualifying low hand (if any) split the pot. For example, Omaha and Seven Card Stud are often played High Low with a "Eight or better" qualifier for low.
