Turn - The fourth community card in a flop game.

When playing Texas Holdem, Omaha or Crazy Pineapple, players use cards in their hands with community cards in order to make their best five card combination. One of those community cards is called the turn.

The community cards are dealt in between betting action. After each player is dealt their hole cards and betting occurs, the dealer places three cards face up on the board for all players to share. The first three cards are called the flop. After some more betting action, the dealer places the fourth card (the turn) up for the players and another round of betting takes place. The fifth and final card is called the river and once all players complete their betting action, the hand is revealed and the winner/s are pushed the pot.

When playing limit poker, the turn card is where the betting limits are increased. For example, in a $3-6 Limit Holdem game, players are allowed to bet in $3 increments before the flop and on the flop. One the dealer deals the turn card, the betting increments are raised to $6 and it remains that limit until the hand is completed.
