A wheel in a Hi-Low game is a very powerful holding because of it is the nut low hand a very strong high hand as well. In those type of games,
it is very common for players to play cards that can make the wheel. If a player happens to make an Ace to Five straight flush, then it is known as a
"Steel Wheel." The term, wheel, is heard more often than
bicycle even though both mean the same thing.
In Deuce-to-Seven Lowball, aces are considered high. Therefore it is common to hear players refer to a wheel when they
are holding 75432 which is the nut low hand in that game.
Another name for a wheel is a "bicycle".
Bicycle is also short for The Bicycle Casino which is located in Bell Gardens, California. It is southeast of Los
Angeles and close to Commerce Casino. The Bicycle Casino is also known as "The Bike."
